Neomed Celebrates Expansion, Sixth Anniversary

The company that makes and markets medical devices for pediatric and neonatal patients originally opened in Woodstock in 2007.

A Woodstock business dedicated to providing neonatal patients with the comprehensive, quality medical care is celebrating its recent expansion.

NeoMed, Inc., which employs around 20 people, recently expanded to more than 20,000 square feet, which includes space for warehouse operations, management and marketing staff offices, a product testing lab, research and development lab, as well as quality and engineering services. 

The company, one of several businesses part of the Existing Industries initiative coordinated by the Cherokee Office of Economic Development, on Thursday held an open house for the public to learn more about its operations, located on Londonderry Court off Highway 92.

NeoMed designs and markets medical devices for neonatal and pediatric patients and is known for pioneering for the Enteral Safety System, which uses utilizes oral/enteral connections that are "necessary to help mitigate dangerous misconnection errors that result when Luer IV products are used to deliver enteral nutrition," according to its press release.

It formed in 2007 "out of the need to create quality neonatal focused devices dedicated to enhancing patient safety," according to its website

Along with its Enteral Safety System, it's also developed a full line of neonatal catheters and kits such as syringes that are both clear and amber, urinary drainage catheters, urinary drainage kits, umbilical catheters, insertion kits, breast milk containers and SafeBaby™ (B.M.T.) systems.
