The Coffeehouse is holding an auction Sunday with all of its furniture, art and memorabilia.

will close its doors this weekend, but this time it will re-open in Downtown Woodstock with a new name, new look but same great coffee.

Since changing owners for the third time and opening in October 2010, Mike and Laura Gullicksen have cut costs and lost money in its 1428 Towne Lake Pkwy. location.

“Nothing is set in place yet, but we are going to offer workshops. Groups will be able to do presentations,” Mike said explaining the layout will be different with more open areas to accommodate larger parties.

The general layout will be much different walking in with two entrances and a smaller kitchen and service area to give room for more seating.

“We will have a more refined coffee experience for everyone,” Mike said.

The menu will be reduced to no sandwiches, but whole cakes made by a local baker will be added. The usual pastries, scones, muffins, cookies and bagels will be served.

The will continue featuring local talent on the weekends that draws a large crowd every Friday and Saturday night. The staff will move with the business and experienced baristas that will be required to go through the proper training will be hired.

Mike said a new name is in the works, as well as new features that will be released before the opening in mid to late April.

An auction is being held Sunday starting at noon for all the furniture, art and memorabilia. All proceeds will go the new coffee house.

Mike said he is looking forward to being a part of Downtown Woodstock and offering a new meeting place.

“It is going to be a whole new heightened experience.”
