Elementary students join Cobb EMC for career day

Nearly 60 local students recently joined Cobb EMC for the cooperative’s 23rd annual Career Day event. Elementary students from Allatoona, Boston, Due West, Ford, Russom and Timber Ridge job shadowed employees across the company.

Prior to the event, students gained job search skills by filling out applications for the career day job postings for which they felt most qualified. Top candidates were selected and given ID badges for their first day on the job.

Cobb EMC also hosted a luncheon for students, teachers and parents with an inspirational message from John Plunkett, senior vice president of human resources at Cobb EMC, and door prize drawings for the students.
