Man Shot in Face at Midtown Party - Midtown Patch

Atlanta Police Detectives are still piecing together events that occurred during the early morning hours on Monday outside of the Savannah Midtown Apartments on North Avenue.

Sgt. Gregory Lyon told Midtown Patch that, "preliminary information is that a 23-year-old male was invited to a party at the location, 215 North Avenue." Midtown Patch has more on this story.

Police Charge Bomb Hoax Suspect on Three Counts - Alpharetta-Milton Patch

A suspect whom Alpharetta police say confessed to a bomb threat hoax at North Point Mall last week was formally charged with terroristic threats, making false alarm and false 911 report, according to George Gordon. Alpharetta-Milton Patch has more on this story.

- Smyrna-Vinings Patch

Interstate 75, which was shut down in both directions this afternoon after a suspected a bank robber who claimed she had an explosive device led authorities on a chase from Acworth to the interstate, has reopened.

About 10:54 a.m. today, the Acworth SunTrust Bank at 1755 Mars Hill Rd. was robbed, and a black woman drove away from the scene in an SUV, said Officer Mike Bowman with the Cobb County Police Department. Smyrna-Vinings Patch has more on this story. 

Roswell PD: Man Pretending to Be Deputy Scamming Locals - Roswell Patch

Roswell Police is warning local residents about a scam involving a man claiming to be a Fulton County Sheriff’s Deputy.

According to several locals who've fallen victim to the scam, the man calls and tells a resident that there is a warrant for their arrest for speeding through the toll booth on Ga 400. Roswell Patch has more on this story. 

- Loganville Patch

Police believe a man stabbed his girlfriend, then shot himself in the head after an apparent domestic argument early Sunday morning in unincorporated Gwinnett between Snellville and Loganville.

The woman, who was stabbed in the back, survived the attack, but the man died, according to a media alert emailed by Gwinnett Police Cpl. Michele Pihera. Loganville Patch has more on this story.
