A motorcyclist was sent to the hospital Wednesday night after slamming into the back of a Forsyth County Sheriff's patrol vehicle, authorities said.

Doctor Indicted on Child Molestation Charges — Sandy Springs Patch

A Fulton County Grand Jury has indicted a Sandy Springs doctor on charges that he molested a juvenile female during a sleepover at his residence.

Doctor Kelly Thrasher was indicted Tuesday on child molestation. The Fulton County Grand Jury added the charges of sexual battery and aggravated sexual battery to the indictment. Thrasher was arrested on Jan. 24 after his release from the Ridgeview Medical Center where he entered himself after detectives initiated a criminal investigation into the molestation complaint. Alcohol and "common drugs of abuse" were not factors in a November 2012 vehicle collision in Suwanee that claimed two lives and injured another person, according to the Gwinnett medical examiner.

ME Ted Bailey said in an email that he has received the reports – with "negative" results – from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation's Forensic Sciences division; they were dated late December and early January. Read more on Suwanee Patch.

Reports are coming in of a violent attack Wednesday night in Tucker which has left a convenience store owner badly injured and in hospital.

"Mr. Patel was severely beaten with a sledgehammer," long-time customer Denise Pounds told Patch. "I went in to the store this morning and the day manager informed us of the tragedy. She is very upset. She said three black men came into the store and proceeded to ask for money and then began beating him for no reason as they knew where the cash register is."
