The Georgia Department of Transportation will perform maintenance work on the Towne Lake Parkway entrance ramps to I-575 next week.

Crews will be repairing the deteriorating asphalt spots on the Towne Lake Parkway entrance ramps Monday, May 6 through Thursday, May 9 between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., weather permitting.

It is GDOT's policy to repair and maintain Georgia interstates and state highways using methods such as deep patching, proper equipment and skilled and dedicated employees.

"Prompt repair of small asphalt pavement defects has significant impacts on reducing maintenance costs," according to a press release from GDOT. "Deep patching which will be used in this maintenance operation is one of the methods Georgia DOT uses to repair deteriorated, settled, cracking and dislodged pavement."

The technique is much less expensive than other methods, and "provides a reasonable measure of roadway repairs and reduces maintenance costs," the press release states.
