Gwinnett Woman Still Considered Missing - Lawrenceville Patch

Stacy Parker went missing Friday afternoon when she was last seen at the Venture Cinemas in Duluth. On Sunday, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Parker was found safe. However, Cpl. Jake Smith of the Gwinnett County Police says the woman is still missing and the Mattie's Call is still in effect.

"As far as GCPD is concerned, Stacey Parker has not been located," said Smith in a release. "We still consider her a missing person and we still consider her at risk."

Smith says detectives have received tips that Parker may have bee seen at a homeless shelter in Atlanta. That information has not been confirmed and GCPD detectives are investigating. See Lawrenceville Patch for more on this story. 

Man Dead After Altercation At Lithonia Walmart – Stone Mountain-Lithonia Patch

A suspected shoplifter is dead after store employees at a Lithonia Wal-Mart detained him in the store's parking lot, according to wsbtv.com.

A police report obtained by the news outlet shows the incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, when a middle-aged man was suspected of shoplifting two DVD players from the Fairington Road store.

Store employees caught the suspect in the parking lot and a fight occurred while the employees tried to detain the man for police, according to the police report.

A Walmart spokeswoman called the death "truly a sad situation" in a release sent out today. See Stone Mountain-Lithonia Patch for more on this story.

19 Die in Traffic Accidents over the Thanksgiving Holiday - Alpharetta-Milton Patch

The 102-hour Thanksgiving holiday travel period ended at midnight with 19 traffic fatalities reported across the state. The Georgia State Patrol investigated 11 of the 19 fatal crashes that occurred between 6 p.m. Wednesday and midnight.

The 19 traffic fatalities is one more than in 2011.

State troopers investigated a total of 622 traffic crashes during the period that resulted in 263 injuries. Of the 11 traffic deaths investigated by troopers, alcohol is suspected as a contributing factor in 4 of the crashes, and 7 of the victims were not using seat belts. DeKalb Police Investigate Toddler Death in Parkview - East Atlanta Patch

DeKalb County police are continuing to investigate what led to the death of a 2-year-old boy in Parkview Saturday night.

Michael Weeks was pronounced dead at Hughes Spalding hospital, according to a report in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. 

Weeks, who had bruises on his chest and thighs, suffered from cardiac arrest. See East Atlanta Patch for more on this story.

Roswell Fire Truck on the Road to New York - Roswell Patch

The residents of Island Park, NY, have had to depend on the kindness of others to keep their homes and businesses safe from fire since Hurricane Sandy, but a fire engine they can call their own is on the way.

The Roswell City Council approved the donation of a surplus fire truck to the Long Island area community. Hurricane Sandy put as much as six feet of water in the Island Park fire station, and the seawater destroyed the community's own truck, and much of its equipment.

Earlier today, members of the Roswell Fire Department and Roswell City Council gathered at the Roswell Fire Department headquarters to turn the truck over to the men who will drive the truck to Island Park. The truck was filled with donated equipment as well, including boots, pants, hoods and other turnout gear for firefighters. See Roswell Patch for more on this story.
