Man Wanted in Gwinnett Dies After Police Crash in Iowa - Gwinnett Patch

A "possibly suicidal and homicidal" man wanted on multiple charges in Gwinnett County is dead after crashing his car into a police cruiser in Des Moines, Iowa.

Jeremiah Johnson, 33, who was pulled over by Gwinnett Police on Jan. 11 in Buford, led Iowa troopers on a high speed chase Feb. 15 that ended in a fatal crash. According to the Des Moines Register, speeds during the chase reached 110 miles per hour. Johnson's 5-year-old son, Johnnathan Johnson, was in the vehicle at the time of the crash. .

Man Arrested for Sexual Battery and Pandering - Athens Patch

At 12:37am on February 17, Athens Clarke County Police responded to the Bigger Vision Homeless Shelter at 95 North Avenue.

There they met with two women, 43 and 56 years old, who reported that a male had touched them inappropriately while they were in the shelter. The younger woman said the man had offered her cash for sexual favors. See Athens Patch for more on this story.

Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services responded to a residential fire that destroyed a motor home and a garage in Holly Springs on Friday afternoon.

According to a press release, Cherokee Fire and the Canton Fire Department joined forces to battle the blaze caused by a homeowner spilling gasoline in the 100 block of Kimberly Road in Holly Springs just after 1:30 p.m. Visit Holly Springs Patch for more on this story.

- Norcross Patch

Norcross Police arrested an attempted armed robbery suspect at a bus stop off Beaver Ruin Road after a nearby check cashing business reported that someone had tried to rob them.

The accused Norcross man, Q. Somah Paygai, who was positively identified by the victim, an employee of Atlanta Check Cashers, had a large kitchen knife and demand notes that police found up his sleeve, according to the incident report. Read the note on Norcross Patch.
