Forum for State Senate District 14 Candidates Set in Cartersville

Representatives from WBHF-AM 1450, The Daily Tribune News and the Cherokee Tribune' will serve as panelists during the WBHF Political Forum in Bartow County.

A local radio station and two newspapers will team up to hold a forum for the six candidates who have qualified for the special election to fill State Senate District 14 seat.

Set for 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14 at The Grand Theatre in downtown Cartersville, candidates will take questions from representatives from WBHF-AM 1450The Daily Tribune News and the Cherokee Tribune during the WBHF Political Forum, according to the news release.

The seat was vacated by Barry Loudermilk, who resigned to focus on is bid for the U.S. House seat vacated by Congressman Phil Gingrey, who is running for the U.S. Senate

“The political forums are one of the most important community events that we do,” WBHF Station Manager and Cartersville Mayor Matt Santini said in the release. “We are thrilled to continue our partnership with The Daily Tribune News and the Cherokee Tribune for this event.

“When local media outlets can have a healthy and respectful competition and can work together on events like this, the community wins.”

Six candidates have qualified for the post: 

In addition to the panelist’s questions, WBHF is soliciting questions from the public for consideration. Questions may be submitted via the station’s Facebook page or via email to news@WBHFradio.org.

The public is encouraged to attend the free event at The Grand Theatre in downtown Cartersville, but it will also be broadcast live on AM 1450 and replayed at multiple times before the Nov. 5 special election, the release says.
