Jason Manthorne Memorial Golf Scramble

The friends and family of Jason Manthorne cordially invite you
to participate to play the inaugural Jason
Manthorne Memorial Golf Scramble
aka “Birdies and Brews” to benefit the Jason Manthorne Memorial
Scholarship Fund
 at UGA.

The cost of this event
is only $65 per player ($260 per team).
 This is an excellent
deal, especially for a Saturday afternoon! The entry includes 18-holes,
cart, lunch, refreshments, and awards. This is an excellent deal! The scramble
begins with a memorial toast at 12:30 PM, shotgun start at 1 PM, and concludes
with refreshments and awards at 5 PM. The
scramble is made up of teams of four players. Team and individual signups are
both welcome. Individuals will be assigned to a four-person team by the event committee.

Jason Manthorne spent the
last 13 years at the University of Georgia as an undergraduate and graduate
student in the Department of History, completing his PhD in History in summer
2013. Tragically, Jason passed
away suddenly last November, leaving a void with his family and friends as well
as his students and colleagues at UGA. In addition to being a well-respected
teacher and a skilled historian, Jason was also an avid golfer.
