Over 800 Families Sign up For Thanksgiving Baskets

MUST Ministries anticipates reaching its goal of feeding 1,000 families by Friday.

Nearly 1,000 families have been enrolled in MUST Ministries'Thanksgiving Baskets program.

Over 800 families have signed up for the initiative, said Kendall Jones, director of MUST Ministries' Cherokee Program Services Center in Canton. Jones said the agency expects to reach its goal of feeding 1,000 families by Friday, which is the deadline for families to register.

The Marietta-based agency still needs turkeys, packets/boxes of mashed potatoes and packets/jars of gravy.

Mashed potatoes and gravy can be dropped off at its Canton location (111 Brown Industrial Parkway) between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Ideally, Jones said they'd like to have the items by Tuesday, Nov. 19, but "hopefully no later than (Friday) 11/22."

Since the agency has "limited frozen storage space" for turkeys, Jones said he prefers donors contact MUST Ministries to learn the best way to donate the Thanksgiving main dish.
