Adventures in Woodstock Band: Kudos to a job well done!

This weekend the marching band competed at River Ridge High School for our first competition of the 2013 season.  For it to be so early in the season, and with so many rookies, they performed wonderfully winning the crowd over with one of the ONLY standing ovations of the day.  It was a REAL crowd pleaser as we had random people stopping by to say how much they like the show.  The judges seemed to agree too.  We have some good feedback from the panel of 12 judges as to how to make our show even better for the next competition.

The band earned straight superiors in ALL categories.  They were silver division (A/AA/AAA) champions and the second highest score out of the entire day with an overall score of 90.825 second by only 3 points to a band more than twice our size.  Please congratulate our marching band students! They will be competing again on October 19 at Harralson County High School and then on November 2 in Chattanooga Tennessee (USBANDS Southeastern Championships).  Our thanks also goes out to the WHS faculty for their constant support of our program and our amazing band director, Mr. Bob Loehr and his staff.
