Friday Night Live's 'Christmas on Main'

There is a plethora of activities for the whole family in Downtown Woodstock this Friday.

Downtown Woodstock will be hosting a Christmas celebration this Friday Night Live. 

Spend the first Friday of every month in Downtown Woodstock and enjoy the many restaurants and stores that the area has to offer as the Downtown Merchants stay open late from 6 to 9 p.m. 

For each Friday Night Live theme, participating Downtown Merchants will have activities going on at their stores and throughout the Downtown area related to the theme of the month. The theme for this Friday Night Live is "Christmas on Main". 

Christmas carolers will be strolling and singing about town

Santa Claus will be at the Woodstock Visitors Center at . Everyone is welcome to stop by and visit with him. Bring your camera and take a picture with Santa for free. Santa at Dean's Store is sponsored by .

will be strolling around Downtown Woodstock during the event greeting all the children and checking to see if they made Santa's good or naughty list. 

We are encouraging everyone who attends the event to wear their pajamas. Why not have a downtown wide pajama party at Friday Night Live?

There will be a $100 Downtown Gift Certificate Giveaway. Every $10 you spend at a Downtown business during Friday Night Live can enter you into a drawing for a $100 Downtown Dollars Gift Certificate. Just bring your receipt for any purchase made at a Downtown business during the event to the Woodstock Visitors Center to enter the contest. For example, if your spend $50 you will be entered five times into the drawing.

The Downtown Merchants will have their stores decorated for Christmas as we will be having a special store front decoration contest during the event. A special panel of judges will select the merchant who does the best job with their decorations. 

  • The Cherokee County Historical Society will have a table set up to sell the brand new book that has been published on the history of Cherokee County. This makes a great Christmas gift! They with also have other great books and ornaments that relate to the history of Cherokee County for sale.
  • will give a 10 percent discount to anyone wearing their pajamas. Only individuals wearing pajamas will receive the discount. Copper Coin will also feature musician Ricky Free from 8 to 10 p.m. 
  • will be offering $1 small hot chocolate to anyone in pj's and/or 10 precent off any sandwich.
  • The will be giving everyone coupons for $5 off a $10 or more item in the gift shop. Pajama-wearing customers will get a free name-sake angel ornament. They will be serving up some hot cider and will also have three door prizes. Visit Woodstock Pharmacy's Facebook page for photos. This is the first time the Woodstock Pharmacy has stayed open for Friday Night Live so be sure to stop by the store and let them know you are happy they are now part of the event.
  • will offer “pajama” folks a comp Cheese Dip Appetizer while dining in. As well, they will have Tecate Beer and House Margarita’s on special. “Santa’s and Ms. Clause’s” will receive a complimentary Pineapple Infused Tequila shot as well.
  • Roomscapes Gallery and Heartworks Studio will have a tree decorated with mini paintings. Also, Debbie Tidwell's students will have their eighth annual Student Art Show. This show highlights some exceptional works of art painted within this year of art classes. Blaine Steven Lusk will be trying out his new electric guitar with a great blues sound. Join them for a look at new art and listen to new music.
  • will have a table set up in front of the Visitors Center with hot cider and cookies. Ameris Bank is sponsoring Santa's appearance at the Woodstock Visitors Center at Dean's Store. 
  •  will feature Ron Clark, Atlanta's No. 1 DJ. He will be performing from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. 
  • iThink Improv Troupe will be performing at 9 p.m. at the Chambers at City Center (normal location of plays by the ).

Also taking place this weekend, will have their outdoor market Dec. 2 through 4. Approximately 60 to 70 vendors will have arts & crafts, antiques, vintage and farmers market items. Great place to find unique and one of a kind gifts while shopping local. Everything in the store will be an additional 10 percent off including already reduced and sale items. Woodstock Market is located at the corner of Main Street and Highway 92.
