Emergency Director's Wife Dies

When severe weather hits Cherokee County, everybody relies on Canton's Robby Westbrook.

As director of the , he tells residents when to take cover, when they're in the clear, and what roads to avoid after , and have passed.   

Now the community is rallying behind Westbrook, whose 49-year-old wife died on Tuesday at , according to his Facebook page and the South Canton Funeral Home & Chapel website.

In addition to her husband, Donna Westbrook leaves behind two children, son Daniel and daughter Emily. 

They will receive visitors from 2 p.m. Thursday until 11 a.m. Friday, the time of the funeral at .

Donna Westbrook had been recovering from complications from a February car accident. Residents are flooding her husband's Facebook page with condolences. 

"I can't believe it," County Commissioner Jim Hubbard wrote. "She was doing so well. Our thoughts and prayers are with you."

Tim Cavender, the spokesman for , offered his support.

"God bless you my friend," he said. "I am so sad for your loss."

"Those that know Robbie know that there isn't anything he wouldn't do for you. He will need all of our support in turn."
