In Memoriam: Vietnam veteran John Kenneth Neal, 68

Neal served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, worked for Pilgrim's Pride and enjoyed gardening.

The following obituary was submitted by Sosebee Funeral Home:

John Kenneth Neal, 68, of Woodstock, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2013, at his residence. 

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, at the Sosebee Memorial Chapel with Chaplain Chris Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends from noon until the funeral hour.

Neal served in the U.S. Navy and was Vietnam veteran. He was a truck driver for Pilgrim’s Pride and enjoyed gardening. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Isaac and Ovelle Neal and sister, Sharon Neal; survivors are his wife, Gwen Rhodes of Woodstock; children, Dawn Neal of Canton, Christy Massey of Woodstock, Mandy Bond of Woodstock, Vanessa Hollingsworth of Tunnel Hill, John Hollingsworth of Canton, Michelle Holtzapple of Woodstock and Alicia Sutton of Cartersville; siblings, Diane Donaldson of Forest Park, Stanley Neal of Dexter, Charlie Neal of Jasper and Debbie Roland of Dexter; 11 grandchildren; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. 

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his memory to the National Brain Tumor Society, 55 Chapel St, Sutie 200, Newton, MA 02458.
