In Memory: Florence Prince, Ordained Presbyterian Elder

Before retiring, Prince was the director of a 24-hour crisis hotline in Salem, New Jersey.

Florence Evelyn Bennett Prince of Woodstock died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, at the age of 83.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, Dec. 20, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Canton First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Martha Fielden officiating. Burial will take place at Pine Ridge Memorial Park at the convenience of the family.

Prince was born in Paducah, Kentucky, and was a resident of Woodstock since 1994. She was a graduate of Union Theological Seminary, a director of Christian education for several Presbyterian Churches and was an ordained Presbyterian elder.

Before retirement she was the director of Contact HELP in Salem, New Jersey, a 24- hour phone crisis line and served on the United Way board.

Surviving are her husband of 55 years Frank Prince, Jr., a daughter Diane Prince, granddaughter Cara Prince of Woodstock, granddaughter Heather Wallace and two great-grandsons.

She was predeceased by a son Frank Prince III and a sister Rev. Dr. Imogene Bennett. She was a wonderful and beloved mother, wife and friend. She wanted to be remembered that she tried her best in life and in everything she did.
