Karrell Millard Varn, 84, Korean War Veteran Turned Antique Dealer

Karrell Millard Varn, who served served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, also enjoyed a career with General Motors in the company's finance division.

Karrell Millard Varn, 84, of Woodstock passed away on July 7, 2014. He was born on Jan. 10, 1930, in Elgin, Nebraska, to the late Elsie and Lester Varn. After his graduation from Elgin High School, Karrell served honorably in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.

While stationed in Germany, Karrell met the love of his life, Donna. They married on May 8, 1954. Shortly after, they moved to Ohio where they started their family. Karrell enjoyed a career with General Motors in their finance division. After retirement, Karrell and Donna were antique dealers, owning shops in several states. Karrell was a world traveler and loved touring Europe.

He was also an avid golfer and coin collector. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Floyd, Leonard and Lester Varn. Karrell leaves behind his beloved wife of 60 years, Donna Varn, sons and daughters-in-law, Timothy and Wendy Varn and Jonathan and Carol Varn, grandchildren, Dani, Joel and Jeni Varn and brothers, Arnold and Myron Varn.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 11, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton. The family will receive friends after the service at Benton House in Woodstock.
