Obituary: Joe Robert, Longtime Woodstock Businessman

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. June 16 at New Life Church in Holly Springs for the former Cherokee County Commission District 4 candidate.

The following obituary on former Cherokee County Commission District 4 candidate Joe Robert was submitted by Woodstock Funeral Home:

Joseph John Robert, of Woodstock passed away Thursday, June 12, 2014 at his residence following a brief illness. He was 52.

Funeral services will be held 7 p.m. Monday, June 16, 2014 at New Life Church, 154 Lakeside Dr. Holly Springs, GA 30115 with Pastor Steve Petit officiating. Visitation will be held 4-7 p.m. Monday at New Life Church.

Joe was born July 15, 1961 in Hialeah, Florida to Marcel and Norma Caranci Robert. Joe proudly served his country in the United States Army. After serving in the Army, Joe became self-employed as an automobile mechanic. Joe and his family moved to Woodstock and he started My Mechanic Joe auto repair shop and had a very successful business until his passing.Β 

Joe was involved in politics in Cherokee County for many years participating in the Cherokee County Republican Party and both TEA Parties in Cherokee County. This past May Joe wanted to make a difference in his community and campaigned for Cherokee County Commissioner.Β 

Joe was preceded in death by three brothers, Leo Robert, Chris Robert, and Tony Robert.

Joe is survived by his wife Margaret Robert, Woodstock; his son, John Robert, Woodstock; his daughter, Lisa Robert, Los Angeles, CA; his father and mother, Marcel and Norma Robert, Acworth; five brothers, Robbie Robert, Paul Robert, Larry Robert, Russell Robert, and Jason Robert; four sisters, Cherie, Robert, Lambie Rocha, Marcie Robert, and Jane Neilson; four nieces, Tiffany, Jeanine, Jackie, and Mary; two nephews, Glen and Jesus;
