7 Arrested in Woodstock Drug Bust

Meth and cocaine seized over the weekend totaled $266,500.

The Cherokee Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad arrested seven individuals believed to be part of a Woodstock drug trafficking operation.

According to a news release from the , here is the order of events that led to the bust in which $266,500 drugs were seized this past weekend:

Friday—Cherokee County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Jimmy Swancey, 39, of Canton for outstanding burglary warrants. His arrest led to the discovery of large amounts of methamphetamine he had on him.

Saturday—The CMANS agents found Swancey’s place of employment in Woodstock, an unnamed mechanic shop located at 520 Industrial Drive Suite B1, where they executed a search warrant and located approximately 1 pound 3 ounces of suspected methamphetamine and approximately a half-pound of suspected cocaine. 

Victor Perez Valle, 28, Jose De Jesus Lopez-Benitez, 25, and Jonathan Scott, 30, all of Acworth, were arrested in relation to the activities at the mechanic shop.

Sunday—Over 13 pounds of suspected methamphetamine were found in a Cobb County motel room by CMANS and Georgia Bureau of Investigation Regional Drug Enforcement Office agents linked to the mechanic shop.

Monday—CMANS and GBI agents executed a search warrant at the Woodstock Waldan Pond apartments and found methamphetamine, a .45-caliber handgun and approximately $33,000 in cash. Shawna Rogers, 22, of Acworth, Marc Lefevre, 26, of Canton, and Aaron Boyd, 26, of Canton were arrested. 

All suspects are contained at the . Here are their charges:

  • Swancey was charged with trafficking methamphetamine and remains in custody without bond.
  • Valle was charged with trafficking cocaine and trafficking methamphetamine and remains in custody without bond.
  • Jose De Jesus was charged with trafficking cocaine, trafficking methamphetamine and giving a false name to law enforcement. He has no bond and also has a hold for the U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement.
  • Scott was charged with trafficking methamphetamine and trafficking cocaine and remains in custody without bond.
  • Rogers was charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of a schedule II drug, possession of a schedule IV drug, possession of marijuana less than 1 ounce and possession of a schedule III drug and remains in custody with a $45,755 bond.
  • Lefevre was charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and expired license and remains in custody with a $44,715 bond.
  • Boyd was charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and remains in custody with a $11,200 bond.

CMANS commander Phil Price said agents are continuing to follow leads in the investigation.

“This is the fourth major drug trafficking organization we have dismantled in the last year," Price said. "We will not allow Cherokee County to become a haven for drug traffickers.”

Sheriff Roger Garrison said: “We are very pleased with the outcome of this investigation. This is excellent example of teamwork between multiple agencies which has fortunately resulted in the removal of these suspects from the streets of Cherokee County.”
