Abandoned Cherokee House Destroyed By Fire

There were no injuries in the blaze, which occurred in the unincorporated Acworth section of Cherokee County.

An abandoned house in southwest Cherokee County was destroyed by a fire last week.

Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services responded to a structural fire call shortly after 2 p.m. Thursday, April 17 on Bells Ferry Road at West Pine Ridge Drive in Acworth.

Squad 1 reported seeing heavy smoke in the area as soon as they left the
station. Once they arrived onto the scene, the home was "fully involved," the agency said in a press release.

The house appeared to be abandoned and was completely destroyed by the
afternoon fire.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
