Marine Dies from Head Trauma

The Woodstock Funeral Home is waiting to make arrangements with the family of an Acworth Marine who died from head trauma in Smyrna.

is handling the arrangements for a who survived two tours of duty in Iraq but died after suffering severe head trauma in a Smyrna apartment complex two weeks ago.

Zach Gamble died Sunday afternoon after being taken off life support, but its the mysterious events leading up to his death that has the Cobb County Police Department still asking questions.

It started on March 25 when a taxi driver discovered Gamble unconscious by accidently hitting his body in a parking lot at the Concord Apartment Complex at 2935 Old Concord Rd., according to WSB-TV

But Cobb police later learned from witnesses that where he was asked to leave earlier that morning, and an argument took place outside, Acworth Patch reported.

Gamble was transported to  with traumatic head injuries and never regained consciousness, according to Acworth Patch. He was taken off life support Sunday afternoon.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution said police believe it wasn't the taxi's hit that caused the most serious injuries. The Cobb medical examiner will determine the official cause of death.

Cobb police and Gamble's family continue to search for answers.

Gamble's family created a Facebook page, Justice for Zach Gamble, asking what happened to the Marine.

Gamble's mother, Tina Robbins, also started a Change.org petition calling for more investigation into the case. She told WSBTV she's is hoping someone from the party will speak up about the incident.
