Boy Attempts to Break Into Cars

Walmart Loss Prevention officers called the Woodstock Police Department when they observed suspicious activity in the parking lot.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested and charged with two counts of criminal attempt of entering auto after he was caught trying to enter vehicles in the parking lot Friday, April 8 at approximately 1:30 p.m.

Walmart Loss Prevention officers observed Ronald Barker, of Woodstock, move from car to car as he checked door handles and peered into windows, said Brittany Duncan, spokeswoman for the . The officers observed him pull all the door handles on one mini-van, but when he was unsuccessful, he moved on.

When the Woodstock Police arrived, Barker told Woodstock Officer P. Hall that he was β€œnot doing anything wrong and waiting on his ride”.

Barker was transported to Cherokee County Adult Detention Center and was also charged with one count of loitering or prowling.
