"Car Bomb" Signs Cost $22,400

A Woodstock man displeased with a parked car near his house in a Towne Lake Hills subdivision decided a "Car Bomb" sign would be the solution and ended up in jail with a $22,400 bond.

The owner of the car had a flat tire earlier Wednesday morning and told police she had every intention of fixing it that afternoon, but little did she know what Anthony Richard Couse III, 43, would place on the front and rear windshields would bring police officers, the K-9 unit and criminal investigators.

“Unsure if the signs were a hoax or not, deputies immediately shut down Lexington Avenue and called in a Cherokee Sheriff’s Office K-9 and Criminal Investigations,” Baker said. “The K-9 did not alert on the vehicle.”

Baker said it didn’t take long to pin Couse after speaking with residents in the area.

Even though neither of them knew each other, Couse went the extra step and posted the photos on Facebook as well, Baker said.

Couse was arrested and charged with false public alarm and terroristic threats and remains in custody at the .
