Updated: Sheriff Releases Walmart Parking Lot Video of School Board Member

Bartow County authoritieshave released the Walmart security video they say allegedly shows a Bartow County Schools board member strike with her SUV a teen who was trying to save a parking spot.

Angela "Angie" Gail Cornett, 41, who serves as District 3 rep and vice chairman, is accused of accelerating her Lexus and hitting the girl's right leg with the front, passenger tire of the vehicle during a dispute about the parking space. See the surveillance video and police photos on Cartersville Patch.

Man Killed by Train Identified - Marietta Patch

Authorities have identified a man who was hit and killed by a train in Marietta.

The Marietta man, Anthony McCullum, 27, was walking along the tracks near the Square Monday afternoon when he was hit from behind by a CSX train, according to police. Get the full story on Marietta Patch.

Carjacker Drives Pick-Up Truck into Woodland Hills Home - East Atlanta Patch

Atlanta police are looking for a suspected carjacker of a red pick-up truck that struck a Woodland Avenue home in the early morning hours of Jan. 3. The incident occurred at about 7 a.m.on Woodland near Vickers Street.

A responding Atlanta police officer was injured when he fell into a creek, Atlanta Police Department spokeswoman Officer Kim Jones said. Go to East Atlanta Patch for more on the story.

Crane Breaks and Leaves Macy's Tree Dangling from Side of Lenox Square Store 

While lowering the Macy's Christmas tree from atop the department store at Lenox Square Mall Wednesday morning, a crane broke and left the huge pine dangling from the side of the three-story store.

There were no immediate reports of injury, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and the mall's security quickly blocked off the north parking lot area for safety reasons.
