Cherokee Deputies Graduate from Forensic Academy

Two Cherokee Sheriff's Office deputies recently graduated from the National Forensic Academy.

Sgt. Clifford Broughton and Detective Daryl Clark graduated from the 10-week course in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. 

The course covered topics ranging from death investigation to latent fingerprint processing.

Over the past 12 years, 631 students from across the world have graduated from NFA. Each session, professors and students vote for one student to receive the Dr. William Bass Award for outstanding achievement in the field of forensic investigation, and Detective Clark received the honor in the most recent session.

“I am very proud of these two investigators and pleased that the techniques and information they received from this prestigious training can now be utilized here to benefit the citizens of Cherokee County," said Cherokee County Sheriff Roger Garrison.
