Police, Community Celebrate 28th Annual National Night Out

The Woodstock community gathered at the Park at City Center to promote drug and crime prevention.

The teamed up with the National Association of Town Watch to sponsor the National Night Out in the Park at City Center Tuesday night. The community came out to enjoy demonstrations by the various Special Operations Units as well as free food sponspored by for the 28th annual nationwide event.

County and city public safety officials demonstrated routine activities such as SWAT team rescues and K-9 exercises. Officers from the varying departments were also available to answer questions from the public about daily activities.

The National Night Out is a national effort to help crime and drug prevention. In 2010, more than 15,000 communities participated including Woodstock.
