Head-On Collision in Cherokee Sends Two to Hospital

Two women suffered broken bones in the accident.

Two women are recovering from broken bones at Marietta's WellStar Kennestone Hospital after being injured inΒ a Sunday evening head-on crash on Knox Bridge Highway.

According to Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services, the crash, which occurred at roughly 9:40 p.m., involved a blue PT Cruiser and a silver Chevrolet Tahoe which had collided with one another head-on.

The driver of the PT Cruiser, a 40-year-old woman, sustained a broken femur in the accident. The Tahoe's driver, a 68-year-old woman, suffered two broken ankles.Β 

According to Cherokee Fire and EMS,Β both women were taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Both lanes of Knox Bridge Highway were shut down for around an hour until the wreckage was cleared away. The cause of the accident is under investigation by the Georgia State Patrol.
