Kell Teacher Released on $25K Bond

James Chadwick Brigham, a social studies teacher accused of sexual battery and battery against two students, turned himself in Thursday night.
According to booking records, Brigham, 37, of Woodstock, posted a $25,000 bond around 2 a.m. Friday after reporting to the Cobb County Adult Detention Center around 8:30 p.m. Thursday.
He was charged by Cobb Police earlier Thursday with , a felony, and two counts of battery, a misdemeanor, following accusations from two students in separate incidents last month.

Kell principal Trudie Donovan, who announced her retirement earlier this month, turned herself in around 7 p.m. Thursday after being charged with a misdemeanor count of failing to report child abuse. She was released around 11 p.m. Thursday after posting a $1,000 bond, according to Cobb Sheriff's Office booking reports.
Cobb Police said the first incident occurred on May 17 and was reported to school officials the following day, but they did not notify law enforcement until May 22. Georgia law requires that abuse cases be reported within 24 hours.

On May 24, a second student made a battery complaint, which was reported to Cobb Police the same day, according to Cobb Police.
