Man Gets 10 Years in Woodstock Bank Robbery

Nathan Alexander Dotson pleaded guilty to robbing Regions Bank in Woodstock earlier this year.

The man responsible for holding up Regions Bank on Main Street in Woodstock has been sentenced for his crime.

Nathan Alexander Dotson, 21, of Marietta pleaded guilty to one count of robbery for the crime, and was sentenced to 10 years. Two of those 10 years will be served in prison while Dotson will serve out the rest of his sentence on probation. 

Officers with the Woodstock Police Department at around 9:10 a.m. Tuesday, April 30 responded to what's known as a hold-up alarm call at the bank. 

Bank employees told officers Dotson entered the bank and allegedly handed over to the teller a note demanding money.

The teller complied with the request and the man left with an undisclosed amount of cash. Officer searched the area and followed up on leads, which led to Dotson's arrest at a Greyhound Bus Station in Atlanta just hours after he committed the crime.
