Man Killed In Driveway Accident
Manuel Vasquez, of Woodstock, was reportedly in the driver's seat of the 2009 Chevrolet Silverado when the accident occurred.
Cobb police say a Kennesaw man was killed late Saturday afternoon in Acworth when the vehicle he and another man had been working on accelerated forward and ran into him.
According to Officer Mike Bowman, Javier Morales, 52, was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident, a driveway at 1021 Pepper Circle.
Manuel Vasquez, of Woodstock, was reportedly in the driver’s seat of the 2009 Chevrolet Silverado when the accident occurred. It is believed that both men had just completed maintenance on the Silverado prior to the collision.
Said Bowman in a release, the Silverado “for reasons unknown,” accelerated forward in the driveway and struck Morales, who was standing in front of the vehicle. After striking the Morales, the Silverado continued through the garage door and into the residence.

The collision, which occurred around 5:45 p.m., remains under investigation and anyone with information that may assist investigators is asked to call 770-499-3987.
