Marijuana Plants Found in Cobb Home

A Woodstock woman who was in the car when Damien Edward Prosser was arrested also faces charges.

Marijuana plants in various stages of growth were found Saturday in a Cobb home, authorities said.

Damien Edward Prosser of the 4400 block of Lambert Drive allegedly had two hidden rooms in the basement of his residence that "contained heaters, ventilation, power sources, organic potting soils, heat lamps, and tools for cultivating marijuana," according to a Cobb County criminal warrant.

That was not the only thing police found.

"Accused was in possession of 30.6 grams of crystal methamphetamine which was packaged in one clear plastic bag located in accused's bedroom," according to the warrant. "Accused was in possession of several extra clear plastic bags for packaging narcotics, and a digital scale with methamphetamine residue."

Prosser was arrested on charges that include trafficking in methamphetamine, manufacture of marijuana, possession of a schedule II controlled substance and improper lane change.

The latter charges stemmed from a Saturday afternoon traffic stop along Bells Ferry and Shallowford roads.

Patch reached out to the Cobb County Sheriff's Office about the connection between the traffic stop and the search of Prosser's house. Chief Deputy Sheriff Milton Beck directed Patch to the Cobb County Police Department. Officials there have not addressed the question.

According to the warrant, Prosser allegedly changed lanes without signaling after turning left onto Bells Ferry Road from Shiloh Road just before 4 p.m.

During the stop, an officer found two types of alprazolam pills and a gram of marijuana in a purse that belonged to Laurie Anna Perez, another occupant of the car.

Perez of Woodstock faces charges that include marijuana possession and giving false name/date of birth.

Prosser is in the Cobb County Adult Detention Center without bond. Perez, who has a hold on her release out of Cherokee County, is in custody in lieu of $5,000 bond.
