Mill Creek Teacher Charged with Child Pornography

Mill Creek Middle School Teacher Raymond Watts made his first appearance in court today.

A teacher made his initial appearance in U.S. District Court in Rome after being charged with the distribution and possession of child pornography.

Raymond “Robin” Watts, 55, of Kingston, was caught providing numerous images of child pornography to an undercover agent who made contact with him in early 2011. Hundreds of sexually explicit images of children were found on his home computer after a search warrant was executed. Law enforcement discovered most of the children were minor boys.

U.S. Attorney Sally Quillian Yates said the children in the community must be protected.

“Although all child pornography cases are tragic because of their victims, this case was even more troubling because the defendant taught in a middle school where he had daily interaction with children,” Yates said.

The investigation is ongoing and Yates encouraged anyone with information to contact U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcements at 1-866-DHS-2-ICE or the .

Watts is scheduled to have his arraignment and bond hearing before a U.S. Magistrate Judge this Tuesday at 2:30 p.m.
