UDPATE: Motorcycle Operator Dies in Woodstock Accident

Preliminary reports indicate the operator of a motorcycle crossed the center line and collided with a concrete mixer truck.

UPDATE at 4:24 p.m.:

The victim in the accident has been identified as Mathew John Meyer, 52, of Woodstock.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, the trooper investigating the fatal accident said Meyer "was traveling too fast as he negotiated a curve, traveled into the opposite lane and hit the concrete mix truck head-on."

The Georgia State Patrol is investigating yet another fatal accident that occurred on a southern Cherokee County thoroughfare late Saturday morning. 

The agency responded to a fatal crash at 11:15 a.m. Saturday on Arnold Mill Road at O'Hara Drive in unincorporated Woodstock. Preliminary reports from GSP indicate the motorcycle crossed the center line on the thoroughfare and collided head-on with a concrete mixer truck.

The operator of the motorcycle was killed instantly, but the driver and passenger in the mixer truck were not injured.

Troopers are not releasing the identity of the victim as the next of kin has not been located at this time.

The agency is also investigating a single-vehicle crash that occurred early Saturday morning on Arnold Mill Road near North Arnold Mill Road in which the driver of a Hyundai also died from his injuries.
