New Fire Training Center Ready To Open

An open house for the new Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services Training Complex will be held Tuesday, Dec. 10.

Cherokee County's long awaited fire training center will soon open up shop.

The official grand opening of the new Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services Training Complex is set for 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10. 

The complex is located at the former Pike's Nursery at 3985 Holly Springs Parkway in Holly Springs. 

The facility will have a concrete "live fire" structure, a multi-story concrete training tower that will be used for search and rescue training evolutions, an apparatus classroom containing showers, fitness room and a small medical room.

A small pond on the property, which will be used to gather stormwater for training purposes, will also be part of the package.

The event will include an open house, demonstrations and refreshments.
