News Tip Leads to Man's Capture

Joseph Raymond Zeock of Woodstock was apprehended by the Norcross Police Department at approximately 3:45 a.m. Tuesday.

A news tip led the Norcross Police Department to , a 61-year-old Woodstock man wanted for aggravated battery, cruelty to children in the first degree, false imprisonment and solicitation of sodomy.

A concerned citizen recognized Zeock from a news broadcast and notified authorities.

“This is a prime example of how effective partnerships can work between local agencies, the media, and citizens," Woodstock Chief of Police David Bores said. "Thanks to the help from the media and citizens, we were able to locate Zeock in a matter of hours and take him into custody.”

The Woodstock Police Department Monday afternoon because Zeock was accused of setting a 17-year-old boy on fire at the Suburban Lodge at 106 Woodpark Boulevard sometime during the overnight hours of Sunday, July 10 and July 11.

Zeock is in the custody of Gwinnett County Jail and will be released to Woodstock Police Investigators for further questioning and custody at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center.
