Hospice Nurse Arrested, Charged for Stealing from Elderly Patient

Woodstock hospice nurse is being held at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center with a $73,000 bond.

A Woodstock hospice nurse was arrested for stealing narcotic pain killers from an elderly patient.

A family member informed the Cherokee Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad of a possible theft, said Lt. Jay Baker, spokesman for the . Amy M. Armstrong, 40, was seen taking the prescription narcotics from the elderly patient’s home today. She was also found with more narcotic pain killers and anti-depressants.

 Armstrong was charged with two counts of felony theft by taking, two counts of elder abuse, two counts of possession of a schedule II controlled substance and a single count of possession of a schedule III controlled substance.
