The Georgia State Patrol is investigating a two vehicle accident in which one of the victims was ejected from the bed of a pickup truck.

The accident happened around 3:40 p.m. Wednesday on Towne Lake Hills South Drive at Lexington Avenue, agency spokesperson Gordy Wright said.

A Chevrolet pickup truck traveling northbound on Towne Lake Hills South Drive was attempting to make a left turn onto Lexington Avenue. A Ford SUV traveling south on Towne Lake Hills South Drive was approaching the intersection when the pickup truck turned left.

The maneuver caused the Ford to hit the truck on its right side, and a passenger in the bed of the truck was ejected from the vehicle, Wright added.

Two occupants in the Ford and three from the pickup truck were all transported to WellStar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta for treatment, Wright stated.

Good reason to not sit in the bed of a truck while it's in motion
