Police Chase Ends in Head-on Collision

Adam Michael Sides was arrested and faces nine charges after fleeing on foot and sending the Woodstock Police Department on a two-county chase.

went on a 3-mile chase into Cobb County that ended with a head-on collision this morning.

Adam Michael Sides, 19, and six other individuals were met by officers at the pool after someone had reported drugs and alcohol use at approximately 1:15 a.m., said Brittany Duncan, Woodstock Police Department spokeswoman.

After attempting to flee on foot, Sides was tazed, but successfully made it to his car and ran over an officer’s foot when leaving the complex.

The officers followed him to Jamerson Road and Victorian Court when he attempted to make a U-Turn and collided head-on into a Woodstock patrol unit, Duncan said.Β 

Sides was arrested and charged with aggravated assault on an officer, two counts of felony obstruction of a law enforcement officer, possession of marijuana, possession of drug related objects, reckless driving, eluding, underage possession of alcohol and open container of alcohol. He is at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center.Β

Five of the other individuals present at the complex have been arrested and charged with underage possession of alcohol. One individual was a juvenile.

Duncan said the officers involved did not sustain any significant injuries.
