Police Make Arrest In Alleged Crib Theft

Two people have been arrested in connection with the theft of a trailer at The HOPE Center, but police are still looking for another person. 

Cobb County Police have arrested Carl James Bourque, 44, of Marietta and Bobbie Jean Colston, 31, of Woodstock after a citizen spotted the trailer taken from the nonprofit organization some time between Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning.

According to information on the Cobb County Adult Detention Center's booking data website, Colston has been charged with theft by receiving stolen property, misdemeanor willful obstruction of a law enforcement officer and felony possession of a schedule II controlled substance. She remains in jail with a $11,220 bond. 

Bourque, who remains in jail with no bond, is charged with felony possession of a schedule II controlled substance, willful obstruction of a law enforcement officer, theft by receiving stolen property, willfully misrepresenting the identification of a vehicle and presenting a fraudulent driver's license.

Around 7:30 p.m. Thursday, a viewer who saw a news report of the missing trailer called Cobb police, informing them he knew where the trailer was. Cobb authorities then notified Woodstock officers and both agencies met with the citizen at the parking lot of Sun Suites on Barret Lakes Boulevard near Kennesaw. 

The citizen was able to identify the truck that towed the trailer into the parking lot on Tuesday and hotel management informed police which room the truck's owner was staying in. 

Both Bourque and Colston were taken into custody without incident and Woodstock police are securing warrants for their arrest. The department plans to charge both individuals with felony theft by taking. 

The trailer has been returned to The HOPE Center. However, only two out of the five cribs that were in the trailer have been recovered. 

Staff at The HOPE Center reported the trailer missing Wednesday morning to Woodstock police. 

Woodstock police are also looking for a third suspect who could be related to the incident, but the agency isn't releasing that person's information.
