Skeletal Remains Found in Woodstock

The remains were discovered Saturday evening off South Cherokee Lane in Woodstock.

The skeletal remains of what appear to be a man were found in southern Cherokee County Saturday afternoon.

The Cherokee Sheriff's Office said biologists searching for snakes in the area discovered the remains along South Cherokee Lane in Woodstock around 6 p.m. Saturday.

The remains, said Sheriff's Office Spokesman Lt. Jay Baker, appear to be that of a "male who was wearing size 13 red Adidas tennis shoes."

"Blue jeans with burgundy shorts underneath were also located with the remains," Baker said in a press release.

Investigators have not determined how long the remains were in the woods, and investigators will send the remains to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation's crime lab for analysis.
