Van Used By Special Needs Child Stolen From Woodstock Home

The Cherokee Sheriff's Office is asking residents to help them locate the van, which was stolen from the home's driveway overnight.

The Cherokee Sheriff's Office needs the public to help them locate a stolen van customized for a child with special needs.

The caller at a home on Ridgewood Drive told deputies her 2009 red Toyota Sienna Van was stolen from her driveway during the overnight hours on Monday, according to a press release from the sheriff's office.

The van is customized with a wheelchair ramp for her 12-year-old son, who suffers from spina bifida.

The child's leg braces, a laptop computer and money were also inside the van.

Due to its customizations, the vehicle sits lower to the ground. The words "handicap driver services" appear on the rear window and "Braun ramp van" are on the sides of the van.
