Members of the Louis family found a burning cross and deer meat on their front lawn around midnight on Sunday.

Kenny Louis, who lives with his family in an area of northeast Cobb County that has a Woodstock mailing address, told WSB-TV they discovered the burning cross after they noticed something glowing outside in the dark.

The family looked outside the front door and saw their cat was eating some form of food on the lawn. They went outside and discovered two large chunks of what was later confirmed as deer meat on their lawn.

Louis told the station that the family doesn't "feel safe" in the neighborhood and they've started sleeping in shifts so there's always someone inside the home awake.

Patch has reached out to the Cobb County Police Department for more information and is waiting to hear back.
