Woodstock Man Dies in Illinois Accident

The accident occurred early Friday morning along Interstate 55 near a rest stop.

A 52-year-old man from Woodstock died early Friday morning in a single-vehicle accident in Illinois.

At around 6:30 a.m., the man was leaving the Rail Splitter rest area along Interstate 55 when the 34-foot box truck he was driving went off the right side of the ramp and rolled over onto its side, according to The State Journal-Register.

The man, whose identity has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene while his 27-year-old passenger, suffered minor injuries. His identity has also not been released.

The accident occurred near Williamsville, which is located in central Illinois and is a suburb of Springfield.  

The accident is under investigation by the Illinois State Police.
