Woodstock Man Indicted On Child Porn Charges

Richard Michael Ensley faces 22 counts of child exploitation.

A Woodstock man has been indicted on charges stemming from one of Cherokee County’s largest child porn stings.

Richard Michael Ensley was indicted earlier this month by a Cherokee County grand jury on 22 charges of sexual exploitation of children.

Ensley was arrested in July after more than 100,000 electronic files of child porn images were allegedly discovered on his computers.

Ensley was arrested as part of a multi-agency sweep to verify the address of more than 200 registered sex offenders in the county. Ensley, who was not a registered sex offender, was among 16 people arrested during the operation.

Cherokee County sheriff's deputies were led to Ensley's home on Grove Park Lane as part of an ongoing investigation by its Internet Crimes Against Children Unit.
