UPDATE: Woodstock Teen Found Dead in Apartment Identified

Detectives say preliminary indications are the teen was "highly intoxicated" and alcohol may have played a role in his death.

UPDATE 7/15/13 @ 10:40 a.m.: The 16-year-old boy who was found dead Friday morning has been identified as Alexsander Fraire. 

Cherokee Sheriff's Office Spokesperson Lt. Jay Baker said an autopsy was performed Saturday morning, and the report is pending as toxicology results are likely to take "weeks" to come back.

The Cherokee Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a 16-year-old found dead in a Towne Lake apartment unit. 

Detectives responded to a call at the Terraces at Towne Lake Apartments on Towne Lake Hills South Drive around 7:30 a.m. Friday, where the the boy was found unresponsive.

The teenager lives in Woodstock, but the apartment where his body was found is rented by his "acquaintances," said Sheriff's Office Spokesman Lt. Jay Baker.

"Preliminary indications are that the teen was highly intoxicated and detectives believe alcohol played a role in his death," Baker added. 

An autopsy is set for Saturday morning, and no charges have been filed in the case.
