Woodstock Woman Arrested For Selling Synthetic Drugs

A Woodstock woman was arrested Friday afternoon for the sale of synthetic drugs, according to the Cherokee Tribune.

Christina Weir of Woodstock, an employee of Smoke 911, was arrested Friday around 1 p.m. by Cherokee Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad, or CMANS, agents and was charged with selling a schedule 1 drug. She is being held without bond at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center.

CMANS Commander Phil Price also told the Tribune the business's power was turned off because it hadn't paid its electricity bill. The store is temporarily closed.

Smoke 911 has been the source of heavy scrutiny by local law enforcement officials. It was one of four metro Atlanta stores raided by federal agents in August.

Agents were seeking information relating to synthetic marijuana and so-called bath salts, which are synthetic drugs sold in the form of powder and pills that gives users the effects similar to that of methamphetamine, ecstasy and cocaine.

Agents in September arrested Serena Burkard, the manager of the Smoke 911 shops across metro Atlanta, and charged her with allegedly selling synthetic drugs, which was banned under a new law signed by Gov. Nathan Deal in March. 

That bill bans the use or sell of synthetic marijuana and so-called bath salts in Georgia.

Burkard was granted a $50,000 bond in September during a hearing before Cherokee County Chief Superior Court Judge Frank C. Mills III.
