Cobb police say a 59-year-old Woodstock woman died from her injuries during a Tuesday afternoon accident in northeast Cobb.

Marilyn S. McQueary was stopped in her 2008 Saab 93 at the stop sign for northbound Jamerson Road at Shallowford Road around 4:30 p.m.

At the same time a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Justin M. Jones, 21, of Marietta, was traveling eastbound on Shallowford.

"For reasons unknown, the driver of the Saab pulled out in front of the Jeep while attempting to turn left onto westbound Shallowford Road," Sgt Dana Pierce said in an emailed statement.

The Jeep struck the driver’s side door of the Saab in the intersection pinning McQueary inside her car. She was transported by ambulance to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Jones was not injured and no charges are expected to be filed. Anyone with information about Tuesday fatal accident is asked to call 770-499-3987.
