Blankets Creek Bike Trails Ribbon Cutting is Tuesday

The county recently completed construction of new restrooms, a paved entrance and much-improved parking.

Cherokee County leaders and mountain bike trails enthusiasts will gather at one of the most popular attractions in the southeast to commemorate much-needed renovations.

Cherokee Recreation and Parks Agency will host a ribbon cutting at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Blankets Creek Mountain Bike Trails on Sixes Road near Holly Springs.

Along with CRPA, elected officials and representatives with the Woodstock chapter of the Southern Off-Road Bicycle Association, or SORBA, will be on hand for the ribbon cutting.

Some of the improvements at the park include an increased-capacity parking lot, a re-aligned and paved entrance, four brand new restrooms/changing rooms, two new pavilions, a bike wash station, and landscape and hardscape improvements.

Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services will also show off their new fire rescue boat and ATV/trailer, which are in high demand in remote locations, including the mountain bike trails.
