7,376 Cast Early Votes

Approximately 2,000 more votes were cast early this year compared to the 2008 Presidential Preference Election.

It's three days till Election Day, and Cherokee County's registered voters have already had the chance to voice their opinions with early voting that started Feb. 13.

The county had 7,376 early votes cast this week, out of the 136,000 registered active and inactive voters,  Supervisor Janet Munda said. Although both groups are eligible to vote, Munda said the 120,000 active voters will be what's quantified in the fall's election.

Another 764 individuals requested mail-in ballots.
