Company Wants to Build New Homes in Towne Lake

The Woodstock City Council will consider a request from an Atlanta-based company to build residential units at the corner of Putnam Ford Road and Eagle Drive.

A company seeking to build town homes on the extreme western side of Woodstock will have their case decided tonight during the Woodstock City Council meeting.

The council's meeting starts at 7 p.m. at the Chambers at City Center.  RES-GA TSL, LLC of Atlanta is asking the city to rezone 16.5 acres on the southeast corner of Putnam Ford Road and Eagle Drive from R-4 (town homes) to RC-3, which would allow them to build up to three single family detached units per acre.

The Woodstock Planning Commission during its Sept. 5 meeting voted to unanimously recommend approval of the company's request.

The council will also consider a conditional use permit request from Kroger to install a gas/fuel station on its property at 12050 Highway 92. The development sits on roughly 7.3 acres, and the station would be built in the parking lot in front of the store.
